On Sunday 5th October the Jericho Tavern in Oxford will play host to a fantastic evening of poetry. Building on the success of last year’s event we’ll once again have six of the most exciting contemporary poets representing a vibrant mix of poetic styles and traditions, established names and rising stars.

As previously, the evening has been designed to appeal not just to poetry regulars but to those who’ve never been to poetry reading before. You’ll get the chance to sample six excellent poets while enjoying a drink and an evening out (and this year we’ve shifted from a Tuesday to a Sunday so you can recharge your cultural batteries for the week ahead).

I’m officially excited about this year’s line-up: Sasha Dugdale, Andrew McNeillie, Andrea Brady, Matthew Stewart, Dominic Hand and Sarah Howe will all be reading. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Entry is £5 (£4 concessions). The Jericho Tavern, 56 Walton Street, Oxford. Sunday 5th October.
